Types of YouTube Remarketing Audiences

Video viewers: People who watched certain videos, watched any video from your channel, viewed specific video ads, or watched specific durations (e.g., at least 30 seconds).

Channel interactions: People who subscribed to your channel, visited your channel page, liked a video, added a video to a playlist, or shared a video.

Website visitors (combined): Show YouTube ads to people who visited your website (requires your Google Ads remarketing tag or GA4 audience export).

Creating YouTube Remarketing Lists

Go to Tools & Settings > Audience Manager > Audience Lists. Click '+' > YouTube users. Select the interaction type and choose which videos or channel. Set the membership duration (how long users stay in the list after the interaction — typically 30-180 days).

Campaign Setup

Create a Video campaign with a consideration or conversion objective. In the audience targeting section, add your YouTube remarketing lists. Consider layering demographics or custom segments on top to narrow further.
